Facebook today announced plans to make several changes to the Facebook News Feed with the intent of making it "more conversational and easier to read and navigate."

The "look and feel" of News Feed is being refreshed with improved color contrast to make typography more legible, larger link previews to make it easier to read links, circular profile pictures, and updated icons and Like, Comment, and Share buttons that are meant to be easier to tap.

To improve conversations, Facebook plans to implement a chat bubble-style comment design, which the company says is aimed at making it easier to see which comments are direct replies to another person.

Facebook plans to simplify navigation with the following features:
- See where a link will take you before clicking on it
- See whose post you're commenting on, reacting to, or reading while you're in the post
- Return to News Feed once you've finished reading via a more prominent back button
Facebook says the design changes will be available users "over the coming weeks."

Facebook is also starting to roll out several new camera features that have been in testing over the course of the summer, including the ability to create GIFs that can be shared on the social network and a new feature for starting a live stream from the camera interface.

Facebook's bigger problem is that the app kills the battery (among many others). I'd rather have a battery that gets me throgh the day without a recharge than a pretty UI.

If they want to improve the navigation, they should start with getting rid of and stop adding all the useless crap no body wants or uses. They're making it more complicated to use and taking the pleasure out of the experience.

For the love of god don't center icon + text in a field. It looks wrong.

They are such a huge company and this is all they've done in years? I really have no idea what updates I am downloading 350 MB for every two weeks. It's looked and worked the exact same.

Hope, we gradually don't need a messenger compulsory to comment.

Maybe, the update is not really 350MB but more of a way to hide that it uploads that much of privacy data collected by the older app before being deleted. Facebook is not an offline app, the update maybe more of single digits and uses loopholes that the download consists 350MB, for every week. Just a billion dollar company's way, to address the user's data consumption for uploading users data.

[doublepost=1502877019][/doublepost]Sorry, a little off topic, but can anyone tell me why I can no longer upload photos from Photos Albums on my iPhone and iPad to Facebook using my FB app. I can upload from my Camera Roll. My FB app used to have access to more than just my Camera Roll. No longer. I've checked all my access settings.
