In reference to this thread: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/1079112/ I thought it deserved to be posted for all to see.

Apparently AT&T (and from the last post in that thread Verizon) have gotten wise to the @facebook.com discount and are requiring verification.

I got this text today:

It only just went into effect for this month, and ow its going away.
On the plus side, since my bill will be back over $100 I'll be eligible for an early upgrade in August (while it was $91 I wasn't eligible until January)

Hopefully everyone was able to save a few bucks :(

Damn....havent gotten a message yet though. I used to have a 10% discount through my school but then got this one. If they discontinue me as well will they charge me to reactivate my old discount?

I thought I remember hearing people say they charged like $36 or something to activate a FAN.

I had to pay $26 to activate FAN. I'm a temp/contract worker for YP.com.

I didn't have a charge to activate this one, I'll report back if they hit me for the back charge or any fee.

Some guy in the other thread thought I photoshopped the pic because it wasn't stock looking, so here's another to maybe alleviate doubt:
