Facebook for iPad

:apple:I'm relatively new to the iPad forum as I just got mine a few weeks ago, however, I am wondering if Facebook has come out and said they will make a iPad version of the app or will they keep making us use the iPhone app.

Is there any app out there that makes use of the iPads gorgeous display that also connects to Facebook or are we stuck until Facebook gets around to it?

No, they currently don't plan to offer an iPad compatible app. I would suggest trying out "Friendly"
 
Facebook has previously said that they are not making an app for the iPad because they feel that the web version works fine on a tablet.

However, Friendly is a suitable substitute for an official Facebook app.
 
I second Friendly. Works well and chat works fine (I've heard of people having problems using chat in Safari).
 
I just use the website.

for fb chat I just use AIM app that also connects to your fb.

To upload pictures I just use friendly.

If you are paranoid about privacy, you may not want to use 3rd party Facebook apps such as Friendly. When you authorize an app for Facebook, you are letting it scrape all the data within your account (as well as your friend's).
 
Just for reading and basic posting, I vote FlipBoard. I don't think it posts photos or does chat, though. There's also always regular web browsers.
 
Friendly just recently started showing Friends Requests at the top on my main page (above the status update box, but below the main tool bar up top).

Those werent there when i first downloaded the app. Did i randomly change a setting somewhere? Can i turn that off?
 
I'm using myPad. Works good enough for what I do. Still would be nice for facebook to make a universal app.

Thanks for the mentions guys. We have a new update coming soon that we're really excited about. Our goal is to continue to make Friends with Benefits better and better!

The + gets rid of the ads on the bottom, freeing up that space also makes pics bigger. Or so it seems to me. Other than that I haven't noticed a lot of difference.
 
There is no need for Facebook app for iPad because the web version is working fine for me. I'm using it since 4 months and its working great. The chats, the Messaging, Videos, Tagging everything is perfect.

And yet every other day a new user makes a post asking about one and there's probably 10 apps currently on the store. So obviously there's a space for one. I find the web version to be awkward at points and not everything functions perfectly, especially the videos and chats. I haven't tried tagging but I imagine its awkward.

As I said for me its working great. You may have a slow internet connection or some other browser issue.
 
I've got freindly but just use the website more.

and i use IM Pro for the chat.

For starters, you can't upload photos with the web version.
