Facebook keeps sending push notifications even though I've turned them off!

Can anyone help with this rather annoying problem?

I have turned all the push notifications off for Facebook in Settings, but it keeps sending me them, even when I am not logged in and have actually 'switched off' the Facebook app.

Suggestions please!

just guessing, but maybe kill it from the background...maybe something still doing it as it sits in memory.

I'm glad it's not just me! This has been driving me mad. I've even uninstalled the app and reinstalled it then told it not to send me notifications and it still does! It really is a POS this app. Really slow and badly designed.
