Facebook messenger not loading today just has spinning wheel...

Can't confirm but probably just an issue on their end. I don't think the messenger would just discontinued without some form of announcement.
Are you running a beta version of iOS? If so, that might be the issue as well until an update is posted. I would also check the appstore for app updates, even if automatically update is enabled. I think I saw an update for messenger just the other day.
yeah i just updated messenger last night. for now im deleting it hopefully that doesnt cause any other problems. I don't really use facebook and messenger anymore but still keep the app on my phone just in case if I want to go back it.
Most likely it is just that app. I do know that if you are running the beta, it is not uncommon for some apps to misbehave. It is worse during the beta period of a major release, like iOS 16.0 but can still happen during the minor version beta periods like 16.2 beta 1-X.
I can’t get it running on new 11” iPad Pro. Just spins on startup forever. Tried all the things. Works on my iPhone fine though.
I was having issues with messenger at around 4:00 PM today but it was related to anything that either apple or Facebook was doing my internet went down and I had a red light on my modem. 20 minutes later service was restored.
Have you had any luck in getting messenger working again? Having the same issue with my pro also
I have the same problem but it’s a bit different for me. I have 2 Messenger accounts - one personal, & one for my Cattery. My personal one works fine but the cattery one just spins
This has Driven me mad for days! Ive uninstalled, reinstalled, gone back to network settings - even been onto apple. Absolutey nothing works - ipad. I still have the app on my phone but use it mainly on iPad with keyboard I can attach..
It's still not working for me on my phone or iPad. You can use the web version - it might look ok on the 11" iPad.
In the web version of Facebook, select the messages icon on the top right. I have 2 profiles so I have to be the one I want before doing this

So, I did that & it worked.... until I switched to my other profile. Then, when I came back to the one that won't load - it wouldn't load.

I have the same problem done all of the uninstall/reinstall, nothing seems to work dark screen and rotating circle forever.
