Facebook notifications are inconsistent

I like the idea of Facebook notifications in 10.8.2, however when Ig et a notification and I click "show" it sometimes takes me to Facebook and shows me the content that generated that notification, and other times it does nothing and just closes the notification. Does anybody know why this feature does not work consistently?

That'd be a question you'd have to ask Facebook. The app and notifications has always been sketchy.

Oops I posted in the wrong forum. I meant to ask this in the Mountain Lion 10.8.2 forum...
BWT I haven't had any problems with notifications in the latest version of Facebook for iOS.
