Hi everyone,

First off, I'm new to this particular forum.. so hello.

Second, last night I got a text message informing me that my Yahoo! password had been changed. Of course, I hate my yahoo account and I never use it, but i DO use Yahoo Merchant for my small business, so I'm stuck with it. Anyway, I go to my Macbook Pro and check it out for myself. Turns out, along with my Yahoo password being changed, so was my Facebook. I reset both passwords to something more obscure and hoped for the best.

Since then, my Yahoo has not been changed again, BUT my Facebook was again! I reset my password, once again, but now I'm really worried. I do occasionally download from torrent sites and I know I really shouldn't.

I have ran iAntiVirus with no results and I am currently running MacScan. So far, MacScan has only come up with tracing cookies, but nothing else.

Any ideas how I can protect my Facebook better??

Your Yahoo and Facebook accounts can be hacked, regardless of what computer you have. Chances are very great it has nothing to do with any software on your computer, but rather, weak passwords or someone gaining physical access to your computer.

I made my passwords harder and unlinked my Facebook and Yahoo accounts from each other. Seemed to stop Yahoo from getting the password stolen, but not facebook. Ugh!

What do you mean with "harder" Is it at least thirteen characters long and do you mix letters with numbers and even some special characters?

Example: n008iepa22w0rd#st0l3n

Or do you use a simple password like freudeSchoenerGoetterfunken?
