facebook push question

i recently decided to start using push notifications. since setting up my facebook for push notifications i get both a push notification from the fb app, as well as an email from fb. i went into the fb website and disabled a few of the email notifications to test it out, and it seems like i don't get iphone app notifications for those events anymore. is that correct or is my perception wrong. there's no reason to use push, if i'm just going to get an email for everything as well.

Go to the Facebook settings in the Setting app.
