Hey guys, I got a macbook two days ago and I already think I have malware. This has happened twice now, but when I try to go to facebook.com it sends me to this free questionnaire pishing site. What should i do, I haven't gone to a lot of sites, only programming sites... I was using Google Chrome when this event occured.

Tell us about your network. No one can really give you any advice with the [lack of] information you provided.

I can tell you that I doubt you actually have encountered any malware on your mac.

Also, I see you are a beginning CS student. You should start developing some troubleshooting skills of your own if you truly wish to go that route.

It's not malware. It's just a case of redirection. If you haven't already done so, try changing your DNS servers on your Mac and your router to OpenDNS servers. This will show you how: Why am I being redirected to other sites?

Then clear your browser's cache and cookies.
