Facebook has been testing a new "Explore Feed" that's designed to help users discover relevant content outside of the standard News Feed, and now the feature is officially rolling out to users on both mobile devices and the desktop, reports TechCrunch. Facebook confirmed the rollout of the feature in a statement:
"We are beginning to roll out a complementary feed of popular articles, videos, and photos, automatically customized for each person based on content that might be interesting to them," the Facebook spokesperson said. "We've heard from people that they want an easy way to explore relevant content from Pages they haven't connected with yet."
On the desktop, the "Explore Feed" can be found on the left-hand sidebar under "Explore" by clicking on "See More." In the Facebook iOS app, it's also listed under "Explore" and can be accessed by tapping on the hamburger button at the bottom of the app.

In both instances, the new Explore Feed is rather buried among a long list of other options like Events, Pages, Moments, Town Hall, Buy and Sell Groups, Jobs, Recommendations, and more.

The Explore Feed houses recommended Facebook posts from companies and media sites that you might not otherwise see in your feed, with content based on topics you've previously liked or content that's popular with your friends.

Facebook is aiming to use the Explore Feed to surface fresh content to entice users to spend more time using the social network.

Some users began seeing the Explore Feed earlier this year as Facebook was testing the feature, but it is now rolling out to all users and should be available for everyone soon.

Facebook has clearly lost its way. When it was first introduced, I liked it for its simplicity and ease of use. Now it’s this bloated dumpster fire, showing me everything except the stuff that I actually care to see. I can’t wait till they go the way of MySpace, to be honest.

Fakebook is on the way out. They have betrayed the trust of so many users, and millenials don’t care about it. Eventually it will end up as a mere website where baby boomers share family photos, like how MySpace devolved into a website where bands posted their music.

Facebook is a cesspool. Are you an Alex Jones loving conspiracy nut? Facebook will happily serve you up similar sites. A white nationalist? An anti-vaxxer? A climate science denier? Facebook has you covered. They'll connect you to thousands of like-minded fools or hate filled cretins who will reinforce your delusions.

Echo chambers for everyone on all sides.... nobody can have a remotely civil or even on-topic discussion. A cesspool, indeed.

Facebook, along with Twitter, do seem to be rather selective with enforcing their policies, though.

It's well on its way out. Does anyone even know someone who genuinely likes Facebook at this point?

Really. Facebook is the right wing conspiracy hangout? Losing to Trump has really taken its toll on you.

"We are beginning to roll out an irritating feed of advertising, automatically customized for each person based on content that we're paid to sell to them," the Facebook spokesperson said. "We've heard from people that they don't want an easy way to explore irrelevant advertising from Pages they have no interest in. So we will force it down their throats regardless."

Fixed it.

the fact that there's STILL no option to just see absolutely everything on your feed that people have posted, in chronological order, is baffling to me.

Right? I feel like i am missing like all posts of actual friends. All i ever see is xy liked video / meme xy. When i look at a friends profile i am like wait i have never seen that???

There is, sort of, but you still see the things people have liked. If you're on the web version just click on the three dots next to "Newsfeed" and select "Most Recent" instead of top stories. If you're on the phone app click the three bars on the bottom right and you can select it there.

Even that doesn't show you absolutely everything in order. It's selective.

I don't use it that much, and the only possible way to save it to not show me the crap people "Like" or "Share" and only show me photos or posts they've put up, but that won't happen.

Thankfully my phone is jailbroken so all of the Suggested/Sponsored posts are blocked on my end. I've also got anything that matches *unilad*,*buzzfeed* and a few others blocked too

Absolutely! I still try to figure out a pattern in which things are listed. It’s just a random mess that makes zero sense. And the fact that this hasn’t been fixed or addressed is just..well...baffling.
