Facebook & Twitter Integration in iOS 6

Am I correct in saying that in order to post something to Facebook or Twitter in IOS6, you have to post a picture or something like that?

What I mean is - is it possible to just send a Tweet just on its own or just put up a status message (I know Twitter is integrated in IOS5 already but can't actually figure out how to just send a tweet without sending a pic)

You don't have to post a pic. You can make a status update via Siri. Same goes for a tweet.

You can also post straight from the Notification Centre if I'm not mistaken.

yes they added a feature so you could post just a status update/tweet to facebook or twitter.
