First of all, I'm sorry for creating another thread about this problem, but I still can't find definitive proof / answer.

So the question is: if I turn off the attention aware feature, is FaceID turned on only when unlocking the phone / entering password? Or it still projects infra dots to my face every few seconds when using the device? Any video as a proof? Simple: infrared camera pointed to someones face – attention aware on / off, FaceID completely turned off etc.

Thank you!

At minimum, the IR flood illuminator will stop firing if you disable the Awareness feature.

You can test this by pointing a digital camera at the iPhone and it will pick it up.
