I got an iPad on Friday and could never get signed into iMessage or FaceTime. I get an error saying "an error occurred please try again" after contacting apple and going through various agents and various things such as factory reset etc they said my iCloud ID was blocked and they would investigate but didn't sound to convincing.

Still not heard anything back, has anyone else had this problem?
 
In the past I had the same, Apple helped me while on the phone resetting some part of my icloud account and then it magically worked!
They are usually really good with their promise to call back (not only the promise, also the calls back do happen) but they won't call unless they have something to tell.
