When I am trying to have a FaceTime conversation I often lose audio connection and my MacBook Pro begins to click. Although losing audio sometimes happens on my iPad, it is primarily a computer problem.

I am using Yosemite, although it was also a problem with Maverick. I can now tell as soon as the connection is made with FaceTime whether or not audio will be available as my computer begins to click. The problem is only with FaceTime. All other audio works fine.

It does not always happen at the beginning of a call, sometimes I will lose audio mid-conversation.

I prefer using my computer for FaceTime calls as I can talk hands-free so it would be nice to be able to resolve this situation.

Thanks.
