FaceTime Badge always shows 1

Ever since upgrading to El Capitan - the FaceTime badge always shows one. Ive deleted the recent contacts- did the kill dock and restarted multiple times. Is there a way to remove this other than removing the badge notification for it? Ive done several searches and can't seem to find anything that works for me.
