I use Facetime virtually every day and the calls drop either on my end or on the other end almost every time. The person I ft with the most is on Verizon (I'm on AT&T) but that shouldn't even matter since we're both on wifi anyway. Does anyone here use ft daily (or at least very frequently) and not experience any dropped calls? My calls drop at different intervals as well (it could be one minute in, could be 10 minutes in) so I don't think it's any kind of timeout issue. It's very frustrating and Apple has been unable to help me thus far.
My wifi router is an Apple Time Capsule if that makes a difference and the person I ft with the most has a Netgear I think. I've had the same problem when I facetime other people though so it's not limited to the person I ft with the most. I'm also able to ft on my MacBook without a problem and that connects wirelessly to the Time Capsule. I've tried to ft on another wifi network as well (my mother's) and the calls don't seem to drop there. I know that would seem to point to a problem with my wifi network but it seems like using ft on my iphone 4 is the only time I have any issues with my wifi at home. I can use slingplayer over wifi, browse the internet, stream video, etc. without a problem.
