i have recently upgraded snow leopard to lion and when i try using FaceTime a black window pops up saying "no camera connected". my mac has a built in camera.. before i upgraded to lion my camera worked fine on skype. can any one tell me how to fix this?

"camera not connected" after Lion upgrade

I have the same problem. I get "camera not connected" in facetime and photobooth. I also get the same issue logged on as a different user and no change after I did a SMC reset. I upgraded to Lion from snowleopard on a Macbook Pro 17 (early 2011). My camera does NOT show up in the System Profiler in the list of connected USB devices.

Any help would be much appreciated!!

If it doesn't show up in system profiler, it's going to be a hardware problem. The Lion install detail will just be coincidence.

Mine has been broken since Lion as has my wife's air. Really sucks--haven't had time to take two laptops to genius bar. Tried every fix known to no avail.
