facetime for the unactivated iphone

I have been trying to find a way to facetime with my unactivated iphone, but the closest lead I've found was by a developer named pushfix. And based on recent posts, he may not do it. Are there other ways to facetime without activation of a jailbroken iphone through email?

Dude, I'm in the exact same boat as you, I just got my iPhone 4 today (factory unlocked in Canada), jailbroke it, but now I cant use facetime because I need a phone #.....it sucks, why can't we just use e-mail addresses like the iPod Touch 4th gen?!?!

I heard you need an SMS plan, but I don't want any contracts with ATT currently. They are too expensive. Does hacktivation allow facetime (by giving a phone number) if you buy a microsim from ATT?

Currently you cannot without a valid simcard with an active phone number.
Maybe try an AT&T prepaid sim if you dont want to get into a contract.
