FaceTime Frames Per Second Mod

Kind of a nice new mod out.

You need to add this repo:

Theiphonespotrepo.net/apt/

Mod tweaks the frames per second FaceTime setting to be:

Min 6
Max 30

Instead of

Min 15
Max 15

Only catch is this mod must be installed on both phones to work correctly.

The advantages of this mod to someone you FaceTime a good deal with are obvious. 30 fps is wifi only I believe.

If anything, I think it would help correct the problem. The freezing is most likely cause by the lack of a good consistent upload rate. At a lower fps you would not be straining the connection as hard. This is my theory at least... Worth a try on a free mod.

I have FaceTime'd with my wife a few times with this mod on both our phones and no freezing problems.
 
I'm using this with my wife and we are able to FaceTime over 3G with no problems. I did test it with wifi and the fps was higher over wifi but I have no idea how many. What I understand is the fps is established at the connection speed.
 
I did try this on two iPhones on the same wifi network. I can honestly say I noticed a difference right away on wifi. I don't know if it's because of the mod or because of the same wifi.. But video was definitely a lot smoother. I hope others can try it out as well and give their feedback!
 
So when it says that both phones must have the mod, does that mean FaceTime won't work at all with someone who doesn't have the mod, or does it just mean it will only run at 15fps when you connect to someone without the mod?
 
the fact that it has to be installed on both phones is a deal breaker..yea im one of those tweak my phones mess around with it and stuff..but people i facetime with dont necessary do that

How does the mod work? Does it just install and edit files for you or does it run in MobileSubstrate or something sucking memory? Is there anyway to do this manually via SSH than having to install something from Cydia?

Edit: I just googled and it says that it automatically determines what your connection speed is and sets the fps appropriately. Does this mean that it is running some kind of daemon or hook into the OS in order to figure our your connection speed? Also, it is apparently available on this repo as well: repo.modyouri.com

Can someone who is running this and SBSettings please go into SBSettings>More>Mobile Substrate Addons and tell me if it is running anything?

I've got the mod installed and have not tried without it. However both 3g unrestrictor and facebreak d/c over 3G after 3 or so mins of working fine.
 
im using faceBreak and this hack, and I dont get a "call failed" message anymore when trying over 3g,

does the hack switch back to the normal FPS when on WiFi??
