Facetime & iChat

We are thinking of getting an iPad 2 when they are released in Canada on Mar 25. Question is can we communicate with someone who has a Mac with iChat using Facetime on the iPad?

You would need to use facetime on the Mac. It's available in the Mac App Store. You cannot facetime to iChat. You would need to ichat to ichat, or facetime to facetime, and seeing how there is no iChat on the iPad then you would have to use facetime on both devices.
