FaceTime not working - has a "hold" button instead of FaceTime button

So was trying to talk to a buddy who has an iPhone 4 (I do as well) and his phone wasn't:
1.) accepting my FaceTime calls (I'd hit the button but he'd get no notification
2.) where the FT button normally is, he has a hold button

It worked perfectly fine earlier - just not now. Both of us are connected to WiFi.

Anyone else experience this? Rather odd.... Thx!

Must be a problem with his network. Being connected to Wifi does not necessarily mean that you are connected to the internet. If he is able to browse the web on wifi then there may be a more serious problem.

FaceTime needs to be enabled in Settings.

Settings > Phone


Change the FaceTime slider from OFF to ON position. Then wait a few minutes for it to process activation.
