so my facetime has been working with my g3 unrestrictor, but for some reason today it would connect? i have resrung, and hard reset the iphone4 but it wont work again. my wife just tried to facetime via g3 unrestrict too and it wouldnt connect on my side.

the only thing that i have changed lately was i got ines and gbsiphone. those shouldnt effect the facetime though im thinking. what could be wrong or fixed?

so i unistalled 3g unrestrictor in hopes that that might be the problem, so i can reinstall it but....

before i reinstall i wanted to check the facetime was fine without 3gunrestrictor. so here is my delema, im trying to activate facetime but it keeps saying " Activation unsuccessful. turn on FaceTime to try again." its stuck for some reason. what should/can i do?

I use My3G and facetime worked the first time every time. One evening I tried it and it wouldn't even try to connect. it would just say failed.

i ended up restoring because facetime was that important to me. i first tried to remove a few JB apps that I installed and nothing worked...

Hopefully you don't have to do the same!

but its strange because it has workedfor a week... no problem. and all of a sudden it stops and wont even connect.

thinking about calling at&t to see what the problem is. is that smart as long as i dont mention jailbreaking it?

now all it says is "waiting for activation"

what is going on???:confused::confused::eek:

Do you have the latest carrier settings on your iPhone 4? What you should do is go in settings>reset>reset settings.... After the restart go in settings>about then wait for the pop up message that say update carrier settings say yes restart the phone go see if you can activate face time... Let us know if you fix it... And if you do fix it tell us how so others who have the same problem won't have to search to far for a answer...

Will do. Resetting my settings shouldn't hurt my jailbroken iphone4 right. I am still new to this and have done a settings reset.

All settings or network settings?

awww!!! i have been on the phone with att and apple for 2 hours now and they cant figure it out yet. i have reset all seeting, reset network settings, removed sim card. i am at a lost...?!?!?!

My un-jailbroken iPhone 4 is doing the same thing and so is the persons that I was trying to FaceTime with. I wonder if it's a problem on at&t's end?

Should I restore as a new phone? I really don't want to do this. Since I will have to redo all my cydia apps again. Awww

I was having the exact same issue. I restored my iphone back to factory then jailbroke again. It works fine now. I believe there is a Cydia update that breaks something. So I'm not loading any updates for now.

can i just restore to last post jailbreak back up since this is something minor and happened post last backup?

so i got it fixed. i had to restore as new phone. sucks that i have to redo all of my folders and settings and cydia, but its nice to have facetime back now

there's an app called, "pkgbackup" that saves all this for you. well worth the cost.

Cool! Thanks. BTW, where do the packages get backed up too and how do you retrieve them again once you restore your phone and jailbreak again?
