I purchased the Facetime app in the app store for my iMac. When it finished, I tried to activate it, but received a window stating, "an internal Facetime error has occurred." I placed the app in the trash, and turned back to the app store to reinstall it. To my surprise, the link did not say install, but instead purchase for .99.

I really do hope a simple reinstall would not require me to re-purchase the app all together. Can anyone help me? Of course Apple's help would require me to buy apple care according to some receptionist...

Thanks.

Go to your Purchases tab to reinstall without paying again.

However, reinstalling Facetime is a troubleshooting step that Apple specifically does not recommend, as chances are it won't fix anything. Removing preference files is far more likely to have an impact.
