FaceTime Quits

Just upgraded to an iPhone 5, and every time I am on FaceTime and I push the home button, FaceTime ends the call. I used to be able to play games, browse, etc. on my iPhone 4 running iOS 6 while in FaceTime. Any ideas on how to fix?
