Hi guys,

Not sure if this is a common thing or not, I did a quick search but couldn't see anything relevant (apologies if I missed anything).

When using Skype or Facetime on my late 2012 iMac, the person i'm calling gets a large amount of echo of their own voice. This happens to multiple devices from my iMac such as different laptops, iphone, ipad etc.

I guess this is something to do with the way the sound comes out from the iMac's speakers, and is then taken in by the microphone.

It does not happen if I plug my iMac into my stereo via the line out port.

Anyone else had this or is there anything I can do to reduce it?

I have the same problem except it is only with FaceTime. I am forced (unhappily) to use Skype on my iMac as it doesn't cause the problem. Person on other end has tried both iPhone and iPad - same issue with my iMac
