I've tried out facetime a few times with my friends, and every time we try to initiate the call, it seems to take sometimes up to a minute of ringing to even send the request to the other person.

Has anybody else experienced this? Any way to speed it up?

When Facetiming, I also experienced this. It seemed as if when it would first load up, I would see my face on the screen and the "connecting" message for a good 15 seconds. I would think it's just a normal thing. As for speeding it up, just be sure your on a good WiFi connection.

Yeah, except I live in Canada and our ISP's idea of a good connection still consists of a measly 1 mbps upload speed.
