Since about 10 days we have a new problem on all our devices running iOS12 (iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPad Air):
When we initiate or accept a Facetime video call, everything runs fine (as before) for about 6 minutes. All of the sudden, the video feed of the call disappear to the background and the status bar turns green. The other party can still see and hear us but we can only hear them without any possibility to switch back to Facetime. After another minute the call eventually drops and the phone behaves strange afterwards.

When I try to force quit Facetime, sometimes it works. Sometimes a full restart of the device is required.
It appears this is happening with people that are using iOS14 - a major bummer in times of COVID and home office.
Is anyone experiencing the same problem? Could only find one person posting something similar in Apple Communities so far.

Any ideas how to fix this?
Thank you for your help - we are desperately searching for a fix!

Old thread but can confirm the same behaviour on an iPhone 6 that I used almost exclusively for FaceTime.

I believe this has been an issue since 12.4.8 and persists through to 12.5!

Other video message apps (e.g Facebook Messenger) seems to work OK but obviously not ideal from a security standpoint...
