Hi guys,

facetime on my imac has recently started to crash. it has worked beautifully before but now it is unusable.

i am able to call my contacts but while it tries to connect the program crashes. same outcome when people call me. i accept the call and while connecting it crashes.

i have tried removing and reinstalling the program to no avail. could someone please advise.

Try deleting the preference files locate in ~/Library/Preferences/ in your home directory. There are 2 files, and they are called com.apple.facetime.plist and com.apple.imservice.FaceTime.plist.

You may need to unlink your mac from your Facetime account/deactivate Facetime first.

After removing those files, try relaunching Facetime.
