I have an idea for an app and i was wondering if someone could tell me how devs can put an image or black background and font on top? I really want to start developing this idea but i have no idea where to start! I sort of know the basics but i was just wondering how you do the thing above (i know it'll be really simple for you people who know how but i am a complete and utter noob)

EDIT: this is relevant to fact apps because thats what they generally have like a black background and white text over the top
