My iPhone 5 did a factory reset in my pocket. I was on vacation in Europe and had the phone in Airport Mode. I was using it as my camera and video recorder. It was working fine for a few days. Then when I was in Athens, Greece I reached into my pocket and pulled out my phone to find the "Welcome Screen" I had the pass locked on, and it would erase all data after five attempts. But I was not shown any warning about erasing the data. Loss a bunch of picture, but I will live. I just wondering if anyone had any insight on how this could happen.

Thanks Tim

So in other words you had setup a passcode lock and you set it to erase all after 5 failed password attempts.
And in your pocket when the screen was on it must have hit a bunch of numbers as wrong passcode attempts an deleted everything.
I butt dialed and texted many times before too.
