Hey guys,

I want my laptop back to factory settings but keep the applications i have.

i checked many threads but they're very out-dated. I have a macbook pro late 2011 that was originally running lion. Now its running mavericks.

Please give me recent posts or if you can tell me yourselves of how i should go about this.

THANK YOU IN ADVANCE!

There really isn't any way to do what you want. To set your Mac back to As Shipped From Factory state you have to complete wipe the hard drive. The only way to do that is to re-partition the drive as one partition and to do that you have to use the Online Internet Recovery system where the Mac boots from across the internet from the Apple servers. Doing this will reinstall Lion on your Mac.

Once you do that you can then reinstall your apps and restore your files that you saved before you started the process.
