Factory unlock

Hey guys I've just orderd a factory unlock from 3 uk, everything went fine and the gent on the phone said wait for a confirmation email then plug into itunes with a non 3 sim card and it will be done!
My question is from the time of ordering how long would it take? 48 hours? a week? anyone have any idea/ experince on this?
