Bought a Hong Kong-spec Factory Unlocked iPhone 3Gs. I intend to use it with my TMobile account. I do not plan to use data whatsoever as my life (home, school, work) has an abundant supply of wifi.

I have every data option disabled, from 3GS to data roaming. At least on CNC (Chinese cell provider) I'm still registering data usage at about 5-10KB per hour.

Back in America, the land of outrageous data fees, this scares me. Everything I've read about getting iPhones to work with TMobile involves cracks and updated APN information/server.

Assuming I leave the APN blank, or forge a fake address/user name, I shouldn't have to worry about miscellaneous data originating from the iPhone, correct?

Any input is appreciated, greatly.
