hi folks,

i will soon be receiving my factory unlocked iphone.

i know that when you connect it to your computer for the first time and launch itunes, you'll get the 'congratulations your iphone has been unlocked' message.

what im wondering though is whether or not i need to have a sim card in there first before connecting to itunes.

i will be signing up with a new carrier and wont have a sim card until a few days after my phone arrives, but i wanna be able to connect it to the computer and put songs and videos on it.

again, this is a factory unlocked phone from hong kong.

thanks!
steve.

I believe you need a SIM card in there. However, it does not matter which SIM card you use since it's factory unlocked. Any compatible SIM borrowed from a friend's phone will do the trick for you.
