I tried updating to iOS5 and it did everything but failed at the last step... It said the restoring contents phase was interrupted and asked if I wanted to continue. When I hit continue it gives me an error -34 message (which means something about online security...)

I tried many times but had no choice but to do a full restore. After restoring it asks which backup you want to restore contents from. Even though when I initially tried installing iOS5 it did a full backup which appeared to have no problem the only backup choices were from the last time I synced a month ago.

I called apple and they said that iOS5 puts content on the cloud but there were issues that night and the cloud was overloaded or something so there's been a lot of errors. As a result she felt my data is probably gone forever. I complained that if this was happening why didn't they disable this update since it was obviously only deleting peoples data forever.

Is there a way to retreive from Cloud? I feel the phone lady may not have the full picture..
