Hi,

My Time machine backup drive is encrypted but I'm getting this message in my system log when it does a Time Machine backup -

Failed to upgrade encrypted tmbootpicker.efi: Error Domain=NSPOSIXErrorDomain Code=-119930878 "Unable to mount recovery partition" UserInfo=0xXXXXXXXXXXXX{NSLocalizedDescription=Unable to mount recovery partition}

It looks as though it's backing up and I've managed to restore files from the backup so it seems ok, just not sure why I'm getting this error in the log.
Any ideas?

One of your drives (I'm assuming the backup) is missing (or at least is unable to mount) a Recovery partition.

The recovery partition is necessary to boot a OS X OS Drive using FileVault 2's full disk encryption. If you don't need to boot off of the backup, then I wouldn't worry about the error.
