Hey guys, I've been browsing the forums looking for others with this problem, but I'm not finding it.

I took my 3G, which I'm planning to sell, as I've upgraded to a 3GS, and put 3.1.3 on it. I successfully jailbroke it, then tried to unlock it. Apparently, I had an incompatible firmware for the unlock, and now it hangs at the apple logo.

I have tried and tried and tried to get into both restore mode and DFU mode. In each case, it gets to the iTunes logo, the computer gives me the connected tone...and it lasts for 1 second before giving me the disconnected tone and going back to the apple logo. I've tried holding the home button longer, and it doesn't make a difference.

Please do not give me instructions on how to get into restore mode or DFU mode. I know how to do it, and it does it - it just won't STAY in that mode for longer than 1 second.

Any ideas?
