I need to RMA back my OCZ Vertex SSD as its failed while installed inside my Mac Pro. There is no OCZ facility in Australia , so I have to ship it back to their Taiwan facility.

I'll need to insure as it cost me $1300 AUD for the SSD. I have to pay for shipping to them (OCZ policy) so want to keep my costs down (they will pay for return). If you are in a country without a local facility you're at a disadvantage to those based with OCZ facilities = going to cost you out of your own pocket

I suspect UPS/Fedex will be very expensive, any ideas if there is a better way to ship but with a reliable company, insured and trackable online.

Also wondering if I'll get hit when they send it back, with GST, as normally good over $1K get GST added. Don't see why GST should be paid a second time . Will OCZ mark on the item "Return for repair" or something equivalent so the customs guys know not to charge GST?

Any recommendations and advice appreciated :D
