iPod touch Faint burning rubber smell coming off 1st gen iPod touch?!?!

What in the world is wrong? I didn't do anything like spill anything, drop it, or even attach it to anything like a usb and suddenly there's this odd burning smell from it?! It was fine a couple minutes ago....

EDIT:

It's not that hot and I *might* be imagining it, but I left it in the other room and I don't smell it anymore right here.

my guess is that something else in the room is over heating and sending off a scent

i would turn it off fora bit and by that i mean, hold down the top button until the touch prompts you to turn it off. its prob hot. if its inside of a case, take it out and just let it cool.

It wasn't hot at all, but I did turn it off and it seems to be OK now.

EDIT: I mean, it's working fine.
