My VZW unlocked 64GB iPhone 5 is in perfect condition; no scratches whatsoever. Box included etc. I used to see these going for $550-$600 on eBay when the 5s was released... now they're going for $400-$450? Doesn't seem right at all when the 16GB model is around worth $300+. What's fair for eBay sales at this point? I got no interest at $600 on Cl .

Sadly the truth is when it comes to resale... The capacity is not as big of a deal as when your buying it. Apple charges an extra $100 for each capacity, but it won't bring you that in resale. Sadly between $400 to $450 is about the going rate right now. All the websites are offering between $330-$370 on a 64 gb iPhone 5. I know it doesn't seem fair or logical, but for some reason it happens like this.

Just to add there's a chance if you hold it long enough you could get $500 for it...

Uh just don't sell it if ur not happy with the price. I won't let it go for less than 500. Since it's verizon it will be less than AT&T iPhone so I say 500ish. I'm. Planning in selling my 64gb iPhone 5 AT&T for 550 at least. If they don't have the money to buy my phone then they can move on.

Mint, as new, examples have been recently selling on eBay for $400-425 shipped, which nets the seller ~ $375, give or take.

If they low ball you u can tell them to buy the 5c... Trust me we iphone 5 owners have the upper hand. They want the 5 premium look with less than the 5s price so basically you're looking at 500 to 650 range

Got 450 for my Verizon iPhone 5 64gb. It was just the phone only and no accessories.

The problem you're going to have is that you waited too long to sell it. The market is flooded with them. The longer you wait, the more the value drops.

I understand the concept of what your saying, but I wouldnt tell someone to buy a phone that has a better resale value then mine. If you look around all the resale websites a iPhone 5c is going for about $30-$50 more then the iphone 5 right now.

As far as premium goes that's an actual opinion because there are people out there that would prefer the design of the 5c over the 5/5s. Including some 5s owners. IMHO the design if the 5c is better then the 5/5s. I've never liked the design. I bought the 5 on launch last year and went back to my 4s. The design doesn't do it for me. Which is also why I bought the 5c this year ... To hold me over until a new design.

Just sold my 16gb verizon for 350 and that was only the phone which has some minor scratches.

This is no different then buying a used car. People pay $2000 for the navigation and audio package brand new only to find it worth $300 when adding the feature on kellybluebook.
I have a 16gig 5S right now but next year I'm looking for 32gig (which should be standard in 2014). But when I sale my unit I just want enough to pay for the new one. I would be happy for $325 to $350.

I actually thought the 64GB would rise in value since the 5c isn't available in that size... *sigh*

Best Buy's +$100 trade-in is sounding pretty good if only they could get the 64GB gold in.

I was able to sell my 32 GB black iphone 5 for $500 last week. But it was unlocked and had AppleCare+ for another year and I included the box and accessories. Sold it locally via craigslist rather than eBay.

I'm more of a hardware speed buyer, I keep mine wrapped in an Otterbox Defender, so the design of the phone is irrelevant to buyers like myself. :) I want it to fly... :)

Considering the Verizon 5 is unlocked with more LTE bands than the ATT phone... it should not be valued less. It has far more roaming/carrier options.

Sold my 64 to a coworker for $450. Box and EarPods. New replacement phone. Somewhat low, but no ebay fees and no Craigslist hassles.

Not really.. the Verizon iPhone 5 can't get LTE either on AT&T or T-Mobile. You're pretty much stuck with Verizon if you want LTE on that phone.

You must be thinking of the Verizon iPhone 5S, which DOES have LTE on all the bands. You can use that phone to its fullest on Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile. It's the best choice if you're buying an unlocked 5S, period.

Nope, I'm thinking of the Verizon 5 and not limiting myself to US or just the big three. My Verizon 5 works better in other countries with an AT&T SIM than the AT&T 5 did. I use my AT&T SIM as I have unlimited international data on my work AT&T line still.

Apple just replaced my 64GB iPhone 5 AT&T Black due to home screen button issue few days ago. Unlock at AT&T for free, then sold them on CL for $550 yesterday. Got few interest, some even offered $580. but first come first served.

Lol yeah, but honestly all of them are fast the 5s, 5c and 5.

This.

eBay is the ultimate way to tell what things are actually SELLING for. So much so that most pawn shops use completed listings as guides for their buys.

$375-425. You can ASK more, and you might get lucky, but for a reasonably quick sale to a normal buyer, without much haggling or OCD over condition, that's what ou can expect.

I have a friend trying to sell his mint 64GB ATT UNLOCKED 5 and he's having trouble getting $450. That's for ATT and Unlocked!

Actually it isn't.

Verizon's phone is factory unlocked whereas AT&T's needs to be unlocked.

You are wrong, the Verizon is factory unlocked, but it is missing the LTE bands of GSM carriers. If we were talking about the iPhone 5s, then yes, verizon would be the best option, but we are talking about the iPhone 5.
