Hello.

I have posted a current generation base model Mac mini on craigslist, and am disappointed with the responses I'm getting. It's 3 months old, in new condition, I have the receipt and packaging, and I'm asking $500 for it.

Is that a reasonable price? It seems to be to me, a savings of $99 from the Apple Store and whatever applicable sales tax.

I'm getting low-ball offers of $350 and $400, even people throwing links at me where they can buy a new one for $550 from Microcenter and Amazon. Mine is still a better deal.

Is $500 unreasonable? I also have Apple's wireless keyboard and trackpad for $50 each.

This doesn't seem unreasonable to me.

It's not a bad price, but for an extra $50, a buyer gets the piece of mind of easy returns through Amazon (or MicroCenter) if there is a problem. And if I were a perspective buyer, I'd be wondering why you were selling a practically brand new computer, and I'd be wary. I would definitely pay the extra $50 for that piece of mind that comes with buying through Amazon.

(Not that you're not on the up-and-up - it's just that I don't know you)

And as Ayemerica mentioned, Ivy Bridge is coming soon.

You might need to lower your price to help overcome people's concerns.

Good luck!

Thanks for moving; I saw this thread after I posted in the Mac mini forum.

I bought a new MacBook Air, and just don't need two computers.
