I have an 8 core Mac Pro 1,1 2,1 that I am looking to get rid of and replace with a new iMac.

Due to the relative "sameness" in the naming of the Mac Pros it's really difficult for me to find several similar Mac Pros to compare against on eBay.

Can anyone help me come up with a fair price for this machine?

Here's the important stats on the machine:

8 Core Xeon Processor
4 GB RAM
250GB Hard drive
ATI X1900T
2 Superdrives
Bluetooth & Wi-Fi (I mention only because I remember they weren't standard)

something does not add up here. The 8-core had the 2600xt as the base card. The original (4-core) mac pro had the X1900, so unless you upgraded the processors or I am wrong, something isn't right.

hmnn, checking around it seems my memory isn't quite what it used to be! Forgot there was an 8-core version at that stage! When I got my 2008 8-core I seem to remember that the 2006 machines going for around the £6-800 mark but I only saw the 4-core models. The 2008 8-cores were around the £1500 mark

Curious why get rid of it, is it running slow? I am still working on my 4core 06 model. Except I have a 4870 apple card in it and 16GB ram.

Playing halflife2 on it, doing Protools/garageband on it and trading :)

Still a champ.

It still runs pretty well, it's just too big. It takes up a lot of space and uses a lot of energy.

The EFI32 thing upsets me too.

I figured its time for a clean break.
