I'm going to buy a second hand iPod for someone in Ghana. Someone at my university has offered up her old Nano (1st generation, 4GB, a bit scratched but with a rubbe cover) but asked me to name a price. She doesn't want to over charge, but I don't want to undervalue it considering that she's a student and short of cash.

Would $25 be fair? $30? $40?

Depends on the scratches. On the screen, take more away. On the body, not so much.

30 seems fair to me for a 4GB. Something I can take and not worry if its dented or scratched.
