I'm considering picking up a good condition MacBook pro what would you guys say would be a fair price.
1.83 core duo
512mb ram
80gb 5400rpm drive
original battery
Ati radeon x1600 128mb graphics
SuperDrive
15 inch matte screen
osx tiger
no dents light scraches from normal use
read about some issues with heat and fans whining quality control wasn't up to par apples norm
 
eBay, for all of its faults, is a good source for what people are actually paying for machines. You can also read the auction listings to see things like condition - something very important for Macs which generic pricing sites don't provide.
 
Mac2Sell quoted 710$ as its value. Looked from eBay and they were around 400$ at the moment (no buy it now option) and 700$ for buy it now. ~600$ sounds fair for me, but max out the RAM, it'll make it a lot faster

Though if I recall correctly, those 1st gen had heat issues....the seller may say it's in great condition, but remember, they're biased :p
