my house
I recently bought a replacement hockey puc mouse Bondi blue for my I Mac and the replacement is a little different and I'm wondering if it is a fake. First of all the replacement has a black track ball while my old one has a Bondi blues and white one but that might just be a cheap replacement. also the replacement has a notch on the button for some reason and the disc that covers the track ball is a lighter color than the rest of the mouse. (The first two pictures are of the broken/ original mouse and the other two are of the replacement)

The original bondi blue puk mouse had the blue & white ball.

But, later, Apple put a 'scallop' into the mouse button since some people said they couldn't "feel" if the mouse was the right way around.

The ball changed to a grey and white when the 'blueberry', 'strawberry', etc were introduced IIRC. It's possible that the black mouseball is a replacement.

Side note - The coloured sides of the puk mouse clip off, but were never sold as 'swap-able' parts by Apple.
