Um.. That's been around for the past 2 months and it looks nothing like an iPhone. They just used the fish background.

1. Manufacture crappy phone.
2. Set popular fish picture as background.
3. ??????
4. Profit!!!

but it's called the iFone!
It looks similar to the iPhone. Chrome trimming, black face, entire touchscreen. from 25 ft away sitting right next to an iPhone it would look the same. Hardware wise.

I saw this phone at Fry's a few weeks ago. A table was set up at the end of the aisle where the phones are located.

That thing looks horrible. I wouldnt buy that if i went crazy.

CECT is reportedly one of China's top three favorite phone makers.

They have many models like this one, with choice of various onboard options.

And yes, they like to rip off the look of many major phones (not just Apple's), at least for the body and front page.

Well, at least this "iFone" has a 2MP camera that can actually shoot video.

No, it doesn't look anything like it. It has four extra buttons on the bottom. The home button is about 3 times as big. It looks like it's made out of cheap plastic. There are 5 white buttons along the bottom of the screen that are painted onto the glass.

You could mold a turd to look like the iPhone from 25 ft away.

Before the iPhone was released there was a company selling these as pre-release iPhones and charging $600 for them. I saw that in a thread here on MR.

Just the fact that Fry's is selling it bums me out.

US Trademark law protects not only the spelling of a name, but also the pronunciation. This is *clearly* in violation, and the fact that a big US Retailer would sell it really makes me lose some faith.

Anything for a buck, right?

Athough it does look like a cheap iphone copy it does have soom cool features I wish the real iphone had:

Dual sim chip slots ( never even heard of this)
memory card expansion
Handwriting Recognition
Games
video camera

If they can get these cool features on this cheap knockoff why could'nt we get them on the real thing.

well that's made my mind up, don't know what I've been thinking about for the last 9 months, I'll order one tonight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What an albatross...

And since everyone loves to bitch about the iPhone having "only" 8 GIGABYTES of memory... anyone notice this iPhony has only a 256MB card?

I wonder how many other smartphones have 8 gigabytes of internal memory...

I'm guessing none.

My favorite part is the trademark notice in the photo of the back that says, "Warning: it will break the law without authorized by TOMOTO Inc. If you use 'iFone' logo on any electronic products"

Oh the irony (and the grammar)...
