Just got this from Amazon Italy. Pretty sure it’s fake. Packaging is suspect (unless Europe has a different box?) and no light up logo when iPhone placed inside. Appreciate confirmation from others.

Fake Silicone Case?!

Did you check if the item was sold by Amazon, or a third-party? Return it if you think it's fake.
If that's a fake, it's a pretty darn good one, as I can't see anything off about it that jumps out at me. Do you have a MagSafe charger? I'd be curious if it charges ok through the case. Look up some unboxing videos of these cases on YouTube and compare.
Then why ask if you already know? Just send it back. It's also possible that iOS is being buggy and needs to be restarted or hard reset. As we all know, it doesn't always behave like it's supposed to.

What specifically tipped you off? It looks genuine to me. The OP did state the logo didn't pop up on the screen when he inserted the phone into the case, but there are other possible reasons for that. I'd like to know specifically what makes this so obviously fake like you and one other person stated so adamantly.
I’ve had Two cases purchased from apple store that stopped the animation in a few months so that can’t be the only reason to say it’s fake
I would say the MagSafe animation doesn’t animate with all of my apple cases at least 50% of the time.
Is the color inside suppose to be much darker in contrast to the rest of the case? Or is it just the lighting? I don’t have the white color , I have kumquat bought straight from Apple and it’s pretty seamless in color inside and out.

As it has already been mentioned, the font inside the case is different, which proves it's fake...
Doesn't the documentation on the Apple cases show putting the bottom of the phone in followed by the top? I don't recall ever seeing it like this where it's one side before the other.
Not completely true, I have 2 genuine apple leather cases I got from the apple store and 1 doesn’t show the ring and one does. It could just be a software glitch or the housing not fitting the phone properly.
But I would just return anyway.
There's so much fake stuff on Amazon it's insane. With stuff like Apple products, I always buy them from the Apple Store directly because if I order it from Amazon I automatically assume it's fake.
You may be able to call Apple customer support and read them the serial number and see if they can confirm it's real or fake.

I was able to purchase a real silicone case while I was in Italy and I compared both. The one from Amazon is 100% fake.
1. No animation with the Amazon case. You can argue this isn't proof but I have two real silicone cases and they always show the animation when I place my iPhone in the case. Never with the Amazon one.
2. The real case comes with a box, papers, and the insert that holds the case. The Amazon case only had the insert.
3. The Amazon insert is different than the real one. The image on the fake insert is larger and much darker compared to the real one.
4. The font of the writing inside the fake case itself is much larger compared to the real one.
So messed up that Amazon Italy itself (not 3rd party) sells fake Apple iPhone cases.

So messed up that Amazon Italy itself (not 3rd party) sells fake Apple iPhone cases.
It's definitely fake! Here in Brazil they sell these fake cases in many case stores. The value is 1/6 of the original value. And there is no MagSafe in these fake cases, just a drawing of it.
Resurrecting this thread as it is the same issue, also Amazon (Germany), not 3rd party reseller.

Bought the 15 Pro - Lime colored case (new for spring 2024). Packaging seemed ok, maybe a bit strang(er) opening pull tab. Put the smell of the case made me think something is wrong. A stark chemical smell from the packaging and case alone. Also the fit wasn't perfect as it always is with original cases. The lip of the case is also slightly higher than usual.
Sent it back.

You would think buying directly from Amazon it would have you covered! I would definately have a chat with Amazon about this issue.
