Hi!

I need to stream a video of my choosing using amsn in OsX. I found an app named macam that is suposed to do just that, among other things. I followed the intructions but I just can't get it to recognize the dummy webcams.

I followed these istructions, as they appear in macam's help docs:

Open the file "net.sourceforge.webcam-osx.common.plist" in the Preferences folder in your Library folder in your home folder (if you're a developer, you are probably already familiar with the PropertyListEditor application). In the main dictionary, add an entry with the key "Dummy cameras" (if it's not already there). The value should be a Number type. Enter the number of desired dummy cameras (0 for default behaviour without dummies). At the next launch, you see your entered amount of simulated camera devices. Each produces a color bar image with a timecode.

but amsn still doesn't recognize the virtual webcam.

Anyone has some idea?

Any luck?

There is software that is called "camcamX" It works fine, bit it cost 60 bucks!
I didn't spring for it yet because I'm looking for a free one. So far...nothing:(

I can't believe all the amazing things I can do on my mac and yet I can't play video thru my webcam!! Someone help!
