A family member purchased their iPhone 6 through AT&T about a year ago and would like to switch to Verizon now.

They went to Verizon hoping they could just switch out the SIM card, but was told that their current phone would not work (Verizon did not try if it would), and that they would have to purchase a new iPhone 6 from Verizon if he wanted to switch.

Is this the case, or can they use their current AT&T iPhone 6 with Verizon?

It will work. I sold an ATT iPhone 6 to a friend on VZW and it works fine. The rep at the store told him it wouldn't work, but I told the guy to try it anyway.

A few months ago a tmobile rep was telling my friend that her Verizon iPhone 6 will not work on their network and that she needs to get a new iPhone from them.
She believed them and traded in her i6.
They are all taught the same bs to lie and try to get you to get a new phone from them.

Thank you for all of the replies!

They were also told that they can trade in their AT&T iPhone 6 to Verizon for $300. Should they decide to do this, would the AT&T iPhone 6 need to be unlocked by AT&T first?
