Family Plan upgrade eligability...need advice

Hi,

I have a line on a family plan and I'm planning to upgrade to an iPhone 4. However, my line isn't eligible for an upgrade at this time. Another line on my account is eligible for the full subsidized price. Can I pre-order using this upgrade-eligible and activate it using my line?
